About APSS

Association of Political Science Studies is a politically independent, non-profit and non-religious association working for political science, democratic dialogue, policy learning and civic participation in Nepal.

Mission Statement

“To advance the dialogue of politics and political science by comparing empirical phenomenon with scholarly insights into how societies work, by committing to support next generation politics and by shaping a mutually-understood society.”

Institutional Identity

Political independence, professionalism, diversity and knowledge

APSS facilitates political parties, Government of Nepal, various state institutions, academia and civil society in stimulating dialogue, advocacy and scholarly research for a well-just society and national development.

Since its inception in 2001, APSS has contributed to Nepal’s peace process, constitution-writing process, democratic dialogue, political stability and youth participation.

Governance

Institutional Setup

The General Assembly is the apex decision-making body of APSS. The Central Executive Committee executes the General Assembly mandate and works with advisory, sub-committee, staff and volunteer structures.

The live website can later include current CEC members, advisory committee, district chapters, and institutional documents.
